CCO101 Thinking & Reasoning - Tutor Marked Assignment

For this assignment, we were tasked to read a passage and appraise it, explaining if we agree with it's conclusion in a 1,200 words essay. The passage given to us was about play, it discusses the different aspects of play and argues if play was beneficial/important to human.

Initially when I started reading the passage, I was unable to understand the passage as I was unclear or what the term "play" referred to in the passage. However, after reading the passage several times, I managed to catch the key points of the passage and ultimately, understanding the passage.

In order to appraise the passage, I started with an argument map to map out the points that the passage has and my counter argument of the points. After completing my argument map, I was able to make use of the points in my argument map and wrote them out into an essay.

The completion of this assignment allowed me to learn to make use of an argument map to list out my points and write the essay. By knowing how to use an argument map, I will be able to use of it to aid me when I write essays for my future assignments.

CCO103 Critical Reading GBA - Reflection

For our group-based assignment, we were tasked to film a video to present our points on why all form marriages should be banned worldwide. After filming the video, we will also need to do an individual summary of the points in our video. 

It was a challenge to come up with the points for the video. Even though the video was meant to be satire, it was difficult to come out with points to ban marriage as that have never been something that I think about. In addition to that, I was brought up to think that marriage is the "right" thing to do. 

In the end, my group mates and I approached the question differently and decided to do the video and communicate our points to the viewer in a sarcastic manner. We tweaked our serious points to make them sound sarcastic, so that the video will be in a satire form.

BUS100 Business Skills and Management - Tutor Marked Assignment

This assignment was done for the first module of my university life, Business Skills and Management. The module teaches us about Microsoft Excel and its functions that will be able to help us solve different problems.

I went into the classes of this module with basic to zero knowledge on the usage of excel, however over the 6 classes of learning and also some practicing at home, I was able to apply my acquired knowledge into the assignment.

For this tutor-marked assignment, we were given questions from the e-textbook and were given time to do the assignment at home. While doing the assignment, I was faced with several parts of the questions that I was unable to solve. In order to overcome the difficult parts, I referred to similar practice questions that was attempted during class and also to explanations in the textbooks. I also asked my schoolmates for help.

After completing the assignment, I am now more confident with my newly acquired Microsoft Excel knowledge and I will be able to use it to help me with my future assignments.

e-Portfolio Workshop Past Assignment

This report was written as an assignment for when I was doing my diploma. We were tasked to select an attraction in Singapore and conduct a research on the attraction.

When writing this assignment, it was the first time I was tasked to write a report. I was very unfamiliar with the report format that I was tasked to work with. In order to understand the report format, I took the initiative to search online the different components of the report and what was supposed to be in it. From my search results, I was able to start writing on the piece of report. I worked on the report for 2 weeks, from gathering of data to drafting and finalizing the report.

After being able to complete writing a report despite not knowing anything about report writing at the start, I have discovered that with the initiative to learn and gather information, I was able to gather the neccesary information needed to guide me along writing my report.

With my newly acquired report writing skills, I will be able to write reports that will be needed for future classes in my university life.
